The Weekly Report: White America Strikes Again

Words By Matthew Spence:

September 15th, 2025,

From Cherry Tape Studios and live from the local public access station with an overdue lease, it’s the weekly report with your host Spencer Matthews, delivering news honest as fuck and quiet as fuck to not wake up his mom.

[Roaring studio audience applause]

Yo peace and peace 2x… Thank you…please…please. Stop…. Please…. I’m blushing. Hold the applause.

[Hard sudden stop]

Oh…. Uhh…. Well.

Welcome to the Weekly Report on your host, Black guy with an opinion… the III. Now, this week’s news cycle is clogged up with so much old-fashioned White America gunk and tragedy amongst their everyday people. Chaos and collision in culture every which way we look, to the point our pupils are going to go off whack and start bouncing around like the DVD menu logo. Fair warning, make sure you keep your windows rolled down moving forward because this week has been a nonstop ride of fascism and neo-McCarthyism, and I could rightfully say it’s giving me motion sickness.

From Sunday through Friday, each continuous day holds the hand of the previous day due to the worry of what the fuck will happen the next day. They’re catching each other like Shaggy catches Scooby. Zoinks indeed, yo.

Let’s break down the domino effect of a week.

Story 1: Bigot Gets Shot, Cry Me a River

By now, if you managed to avoid any source of communication via the internet and humans. Congratulations, you’re a caveman, but you still have a more functioning brain than a good chunk of the American population. Conservative/right-wing activist Charlie Kirk was shot at a Utah college campus during one of his public debates. [Coincidentally, he was in the middle of debating someone about mass shootings]. causing mass hysteria only for certain demographics and being the first patch for a quilt of ignorance. America is failing to get the plot once again.

Story 2: Sensitivity Ralph Trasvant couldn’t reach

On September 11th, Christopher Landau of the US State Department warns foreigners against making light of Charlie Kirk’s death and advises the American people to “bring such comments by foreigners to my attention so that @StateDept can protect the American people.” Red flag number infinity plus. Some people would think this would cause silence amongst the people because no one wants to have beef with a snitch. Yet literally, we know the ball will keep rolling to not just “foreigners” but to anyone.

September 15th: Kimmel’s “Early Retirement”

Jimmy Kimmel, on his late-night show, made some comments about Charlie Kirk’s death and how Trump was grieving. Didn’t mock Charlie nor disparage him and his family. In fact, the main punchline was just Trump. The usual digs he gets.  However, this time, it was a no-no according to ABC/Disney.

September 17th: Duct Tape Your Mouth

Jimmy Kimmel’s show has been pulled indefinitely due to Kimmel’s comments on Charlie Kirk’s death and Trump’s reaction. This isn’t the first time Trump has gotten a show host obliterated over an opinion. ABC was not willing to take the risk on their part and risk their integrity.

September 18th: the Evils will always

Trump sends a warning and implies that this won’t be the last time for any outspoken person. To pretty much any big platform with a big voice. Stating, “They give me only bad press. I think maybe their license should be taken away.” Translation: “Shut, don’t go up; every time I see your face, I throw up.” “I know you are, but what am I?” Schoolyard immaturity.

Now, excuse me while I go off script. Mainly because there aren’t any notes on these papers anyway. This one is blank, and this one has a bunch of doodles I made while waiting for my donuts. See… It’s Timmy Turner with an Akai MPC2000XL.

But back to the program, are the fumes starting to hit you? That’s America burning all around us; for some of us, we’ve been trying to survive it. While others have been treating it as an ordinary backdrop. But now more than ever, niggas can’t let it all be. Under this presidency, we’re experiencing censorship, authoritarianism, fascism, neo-McCarthyism, and every bit of what piss-poor patriotic sadists have dreams about. A country where the oppressed can’t speak up, where the critical can’t criticize, and the oppressors bask in the land of their own rules and values. Stephen Colbert’s show was targeted first when it came to his opinions on Trump and became a victim of Trump’s sensitivity. South Park was targeted for a moment, now, Jimmy Kimmel’s show got asked over a tame joke at best. You know shit is real when white people get affected like this. Now, companies are scared and spineless because they don’t want to deal with Trump knocking on their door with a lawsuit and more. All because a bigot was shot defending the ideology that took his own life. His entire audience and the right aren’t gonna take this moment to rethink “You know, maybe we should reconsider gun laws and our views”, no self-reflection but deflection.

Why America is mourning someone with the beliefs the KKK jerks off to every day blows me. Yet, the same day, there was a school shooting in Denver, Colorado, and not a peep was discussed about it; if not, definitely not the same amount of attention Charlie got. A 21-year-old black man, Trey Reed, was found hanging from a tree on Sept. 17 in Mississippi. Despite police concluding “no foul play”, we all call bullshit. And we wouldn’t be surprised, but yet infuriated if it was concluded as retaliation to Charlie’s murder, yet Charlie is allegedly is getting his own honorary day for his birthday, which so happens to be the same day as George Floyd’s birthday. Racist, misogynoir, transphobic, and openly content with mass shootings just to exercise the 2nd amendment. Yet we’re not allowed to not care or revoke empathy publicly. Do I advocate dancing on his grave? Of course not. Do I feel bad that his infant kids won’t have a dad and will probably have to live their lives knowing that their dad’s death is plastered all over the internet? Yes, that’s terrible. (They’re still at the age where there’s a slight hope they won’t follow the same beliefs in their future. Small percentage.)

But I don’t give 1/6 of a fuck about him or what happened to him, and I’m not going to tell someone who was extremely offended by his gross politics and ideology to not feel any sort of way, whether it be extreme or blahzay. Of course, there are extremes you shouldn’t go to. You can argue that his death itself was an extreme that shouldn’t have happened. But this whole rationale of him getting killed over “opinions” is truly minimizing it all. Why are people trying to make it seem like it’s as simple as “he gave Dark Twisted Fantasy a 6”? This man was a bigot and promoted beliefs as such. These shouldn’t be subjective. It’s objectively wrong. Did I think he deserved to die? I’m not really the one to ask, but I’m not sympathetic about it happening.

Now I’m not playing the fool [that’s Jeff Magnum’s job]; I’m Black by default. I know America’s priorities are chopped and screwed 24/7 since the day of dawn. It’s still fucking scary nonetheless. It’s frightening that people are still brainwashed and mentally dead to see how the country is turned inside out. Censorship isn’t quite frankly a new thing among any president, really. Many have been shut down and shut out for speaking out for Palestine [which is now officially being recognized as a victim of genocide by the UN], due to America being Siamese twins with Israel. Lupe Fiasco was basically blackballed for a while after speaking out against Obama for Gaza in the early 2010s. Granted, that was at a presidential event vs. a different, non-presidential, correlated event. However, in addition to Trump’s presidency, he’s legit trying to manage the media to his favor and liking, till it’s a 24/7 broadcast circle jerk of him. Be wary because it starts with comedians; soon, musicians will get the Dixie Chicks treatment for speaking out against Trump. It’ll keep going till everyone with a voice we see is a puppet with hands up their asses. What’s stopping them from taking out pages from history books, banning books, deleting articles, and certain curriculum in schools? Nothing, because they’re doing that shit already in Florida and other states, which isn’t new in general because America is the sui generis of erasure of history for every bit of its origin.

All this is happening while white people tell minorities how to feel about being oppressed and how they should handle it. As much slack as the left/liberals get—and for sure they rightfully deserve their criticism—both parties are fucked. However, Trump and the right wing are the biggest set of pussies I’ve ever seen in my life. Probably a pinnacle demonstration of how to be a pussy. These are the same group of people who are the first to say, “These woke snowflakes are trying to censor everything.”

[Side note: “woke” was originally a term Black people used to describe being aware of the system and keen to the reality that it’s a struggle in America. Be cautious of that and be woke to that. Conservatives whitewashed it to be a bad thing.]

Trump is an example of when you let an egotistical, fragile pussy have any sort of power of this magnitude. Abuse of it. Now we’re all paying the cost, and if you think it won’t affect you, open your fucking eyes because soon the wheel of misfortune is going to point back to you, me, him, her, them, and us, and we’re going to have to face the spotlight.

America’s climate is divided, and there’s no way around it. You’re either on one side or the other, and honestly, I’m with it. Stay your ass over there if you condone the tomfoolery this country has managed to commit in less than a year. Erase your history: racial profiling is essentially legalized for ICE. AND SO MUCH MORE. Short and sweet: don’t side with the evils.

Whether you’re protesting in the street, trying to fight within the system, or just doing the minimum of trying to help. We all have to know by now that when the shit goes down, you better be ready. Unless you’re another rich celebrity preparing to leave the country because you can afford the luxury to drop everything. Then they’re the polar opposite of Suga Free ready.

More than ever, we need to be united and in tune against the machine. All I know is I want musicians to not only be activists outside the studio but in it as well, because we need more soundtracks to this time of debauchery. What do we need to do? whatever we can. Vague, but whatever you feel helps the cause is up to you as long as you’re helping. “By Any Means Necessary”—now, how you interpret those words may be different than how Malcolm X meant them, and how I took those words might be a bit different than how you interpret those words. Either way, the phrase remains the same.
